Netflix has confirmed that Move to Heaven will air on May 14, 2021.
This touching drama tells the story of a young man with Asperger’s syndrome named Geu-ru and a man who becomes his guardian named Sang-gu. Both of them work as ‘trauma erasers’, namely a group of people who help clean up the belongings of people who have died and convey messages that have not been revealed to the people who are left behind.
Move to Heaven is an inspirational story based on a non-fiction essay entitled Things Left Behind by Kim Sae-byul – one of the first trauma eraser in Korea.
In this series, director Kim Sung-ho and writer Yoon Ji-ryun present various stories left by those who have passed away and are told as they are from the point of view of Geu-ru who has Asperger’s syndrome.
The drama has also received a lot of attention for its cast who are known for their acting prowess, including Lee Je-hoon, Tang Jun-sang, and Hong Seung-hee , as well as special appearances from Ji Jin-hee and Lee Jae-wook .
In the teaser trailer for the inaugural Move to Heaven, we can see Geu-ru and Sang-gu at the house of the deceased. “ I’m Han Geu-ru, a trauma eraser. I’ll start helping out with your final move . ”
Along with the introduction, the two of them started taking care of the valuables of the deceased one by one. As the traces of life began to empty, the yellow Move to Heaven box began to fill up. Geu-ru and Sang-gu convey what the deceased has not had time to convey to those who are left behind, namely comforting and empathetic parting words.
